This course will give an insight into Basic Fire Fighting in a Con- tainer Freight Station and warehouses including specific firefigh- ting procedures. This basic fire fighting training is to imparts de- legates skills, knowledge and expertise that will enable them to identify the conditions capable of causing fire, know how to use a fire extinguisher, respond appropriately to fire emergencies and follow the set fire evacuation plan and adequately implement fire emergency procedures.

This course will ensure that personnel preparing for a gas tester role are equipped with the appropriate knowledge to conduct gas tests for oxygen levels, flammable and toxic gases safely. This training also imparts the delegate with knowledge to conduct gas testing within confined spaces and awareness of related con- fined space risks.

Delegates will also learn about relevant statutory requirements, understanding usage of gas measuring and monitoring equip- ment and documenting gas test results.

The aim of training is to impart experienced personnel with the skills, knowledge & understanding for to be a competent Slinger. This training includes theory and practical elements to connect lifting accessories to the hook of lifting equipment (crane) that are assessed for course completion.

During this course delegates will gain a basic level of understan- ding about the Control of Hazardous Energy and render equip- ment or machinery inoperative whenever employees perform activities covered by the Lockout/Tagout standard. Delegates must develop, document, and implement energy control procedu- res to control potentially hazardous energy. The energy control procedure provides the authorized employee with written ins- tructions specifying how to eliminate the potential for the unex- pected activation or start up of machinery or equipment or the release of stored energy.
